Story:

Gawain Nanuimi sets off on a journey to become the best golf player, and to prove his worth to himself and his team at Camelot in Japan. This time, he needs to prove himself to the Camelot students from UK and US as well, and the competition is tough.

Review:

Rising Impact, adapted from the manga by Nakaba Suzuki, is back from where the last season ended. Season 2 is about Gawain, who is faced with someone who becomes an important part of his life in the story ahead.

Shattered, Gawain thought he has no scope of defeating the US team. That is during the time when they are representing Japan at the Camelot Cup. This makes his comeback even more satisfying.

His attitude and innocence, like always, wins you over. Despite the innocence, Gawain is extremely matured and takes the fall even when it is not his fault.

The mystery behind his family is touched upon in this season. The hint is from the very first episode and thus, thus doesn't come as a surprise.

Gawain's passion is what we get to see this time around. He puts his life around for the sport, literally.

Questar, introduced in this season, is someone who leaves an impact almost as soon as he enters the scene. He definitely is someone who meets more than what the eye can see. If he can make a confident Gawain cry, you know he's the real deal. His bonding with Gawain is one of the highlights of the season.

Lancelot, as always, is the most impressive in the series. He has his own way of standing up for his friends and his ways are sure to leave you charmed!

Platalissa's story with her sister Ssdifa is explored, but that only appears to be a filler to drag the show. Although it does help our lead, it still doesn't add as much value as another plot could.

Liebel ends up being the older brother Gawain never asked for but needed. When nobody is, he is there for Gawain. As a player too, he has much to offer than what you see.

The series can create drama around a golf ball and still make it look smooth. This very much works for the anime.

The build-up to the UK team works but only partly. The suspenseful music helps but the real deal doesn't come for the longest time, and when it does, it doesn't leave you as impressed as you would expect it to. The actual challenge between Sfida and Gawain-Lancelot will keep you at the edge though.

The final match really grabs all of your attention. It is especially Lancelot's turn that forces you to never take your eyes off the screen for even a moment.

Tristan's introduction to the season is one of the best things you can see. Given what he's capable of, the introduction really works. He ends up being Gawain's biggest rival. Of course he too has a backstory waiting to be explored, and one which immerses you into his world.

The women in this series are not to be underestimated either. They all are powerful and they all have an amazing story to tell.

Wanglian is someone who is introduced much later in the series but he leaves quite an impact even with the smaller focus in comparison to Tristan. His role is likely to be explored further in the series.

While you are not always intrigued about the show, you wouldn’t want to leave Rising Impact season 2 as well, and for a reason. This time, Gawain is ready to take over the world. With that, we know a third season is in the making and will come out soon.

Verdict:

With lots of laughter and fighting spirit, this season of Rising Impact really wins you over. While season 1 was just the introduction, season 2 calls your name and makes you want to stay.
