Robinhood has been written and directed by Venky Kudumula, who previously collaborated with Nithiin on Bheeshma. Once again, he teams up with Nithiin for an action-drama and delivers a decent film. It has a mix of action and comedy, but one of its major drawbacks is the simple storyline and predictable narration. The film starts on a dull note, with the first ten minutes feeling slow and unengaging.
However, once the main plot unfolds, things pick up, and the well-placed comedic moments keep the audience entertained. That said, there are a few issues. The track between Rajendra Prasad and Nithiin is overstretched, with their one-liners becoming repetitive. Additionally, the last ten minutes are quite predictable, leading to a simple and underwhelming conclusion.
The film maintains a balanced flow, handling emotions effectively. The director's signature comedy scenes are particularly hilarious, especially in the first half, where several moments before the interval generate plenty of laughs. The second half carries decent emotional depth, adding to the film’s overall appeal.
In terms of performances, Nithiin delivers a well-settled act under Venky’s direction. He looks stylish, executes action sequences effortlessly, and showcases his signature comic timing and emotional expressions with ease. His comedic chemistry with Rajendra Prasad works well, though Prasad himself is over-the-top and feels repetitive.

Sreeleela does justice to her role, and several comedy scenes involving her work well. One of the biggest highlights of the film is David Warner, whose cameo as David Bhai lights up the screen and entertains the audience immensely. Credit goes to Venky Kudumula for utilizing him effectively. GV Prakash’s music is another major plus, with all songs becoming super hits and fitting seamlessly into the narrative. The special song Adhi Dha Suprisu is one of the film’s show-stealers.
Mythri Movie Makers have invested well in the film, and the production quality is evident in every frame. However, the editing could have been sharper, particularly in the second half. The cinematography is neat, and the dialogues are hilarious. While Venky Kudumula excels in comedy, Robinhood lacks a “wow” factor or standout moments. Nevertheless, Nithiin will be satisfied as the film caters well to its target audience, and Sreeleela secures another hit. Robinhood is a fairly engaging comedy that offers decent entertainment.
On the whole, Robinhood is a decent action comedy that lives up to the hype. Story-wise, there is nothing new but the film has been cleverly packaged in such a manner that it has something for everyone.
