Aindrita Ray is the only good part of the web series but she too is overdramatized at many places.

Story:

Ajay (Rohit Roy) searches for more power as a lawyer. However, that power comes at a price. His wife Ragini (Aindrita Ray) is the price he has to pay for the power. How she deals with the situation is what Sanak - Ek Junoon explores.

Review:

Sanak - Ek Junoon begins with different views of the 'city that never sleeps', Mumbai. Like you can expect, it then begins with lovemaking. Aindrita Ray and Rohit Roy make a fairly good first impression. She is especially good post the introduction scene.

The punchlines in these series are very lame. Believe it or not, Sanak actually has the dialogue, "If you can't be the cowboy, I'll just ride the horse." If that doesn't tell you the level of the show, nothing will.

Sanak - Ek Junoon is filled with overacting. This time, Rohit has stepped in as a lawyer. For the uninitiated, his brother Ronit gained fame on TV after playing a lawyer in Adaalat.

The story unfolds slowly. It introduces us to a new but not unknown world. Director Krishna Bhatt has focused on the music and setup well.

The drama and overacting continues. While Rohit tries hard and succeeds in performing well rarely, Aindrita is almost flawless in her acting. His character is hilarious and not in a good way. Throughout the series, you can only see that he is a weak person who wants power but can also be easily manipulated. Often, the two do not go hand-in-hand.

Rushad Rana is good in his role too. As the series comes to an end, he becomes one of the highlights of Sanak - Ek Junoon.

Unfortunately though, he has brief appearances. A choice is hyped with music which is such a poor decision by Krishna. If a woman or a man likes something, it is her or his choice. Being confused is also normal. Why do you need to amp up the scene with mysterious music? The scene simply appears to look down on choice which comes across in a poor taste.

Even the sensual scenes are so dramatized that it makes them gross when it is just someone's choice. The additional Broadway music is too much to bear.

The series also shows a woman justifying men's behaviour stating it is normal for them to behave a certain way. It is so sad to see a woman show another woman that way.

While Rohit's character Ajay stops growing, Aindrita's Ragini progresses dangerously. The show progresses in such a bizarre manner and is so deep that it just ends up boring you.

Rohit and Rushad's debate scene brings a brief moment of freshness to the show. The unnecessary dramatization just doesn't seem to stop. It is too tough to understand if the actors have been given heroic lines in a different situation on purpose or they believe they would look heroic using those dialogues. In either case, it is too bizarre and unnatural.

The bizzare moments just don't seem to stop. Once that is over, the drama takes over. With that, the series ends.

Verdict:

Do not waste five hours watching Sanak - Ek Junoon. If you are Aindrita Ray's fan then go ahead but even she is made to overact which could end up getting on your nerves. Even Vidyut Jammwal's Sanak might keep you gripped to your seats but Sanak - Ek Junoon fails to do so.
