Review:
Do you remember the last time you saw a film which took you to the fields of Punjab and showed you what the spirit of the Punjabis looks like? Teeja Punjab aims to do that and succeeds with flying colours.
Amberdeep Singh's film has a very rustic feel, which is a good feeling. It represents the emotions of Punjab quite well.
The family drama is entertaining even if there is a serious matter. It is what makes the film a good watch.
The film takes up a real matter which is the USP of this Amberdeep Singh movie. The way the scenes are executed also make you want to watch what happens in the film ahead.
Amberdeep shows his helpless emotions quite well. He manages to connect with his viewers, which is a feat very few can achieve.
The songs are never a disturbance in the scene either. In fact, there are times when these track amp up a scene.
Gurteg Singh is awesome as Bishna. He is adorable from the first frame but the real deal comes when he speaks. He speaks the absolute truth which becomes so hilarious to watch.
Nimrat Khaira as Mohni is good too. She deals with a health problem no film talks about. Her solution is equally cool and very desi, which will make the desi in you very happy.
Aditi Sharma shines bright in her role of Babita. She portrays what a woman who has become widowed faces. The actress might not leave a lasting impact but her role is sufficient enough.
As the film progresses, you realize the value of smallest things. When the protest takes place, you know what pure intentions are.
There isn't a moment in the film where you get bored or wonder what just happened. Of course, there are moments that could be a little dramatic but that can be ignored since the story is above everything.
The scene where Bhagat (Amberdeep) is subtly compared to Bhagat Singh appears forced but takes the film ahead. The way he unites people is a lesson to be taken back.
All in all, Teeja Punjab is an entertainer like none other. It is a film we all deserve to watch.
Verdict:
Amberdeep Singh's Teeja Punjab is a family entertainer. It is a movie you should not miss watching. The film drives through a sole purpose - to entertain you. It makes you smile and barely ever, lets that smile fade away. Go watch this one already!
