Tera Chhalaava review: Sandeepa Dhar-Kavita Kaushik's mystery crime anthology is an overall entertainment package

Story:

Tera Chhalaava is an anthology of five short stories about love, crime, deception and illusion.

Review:

The show begins with the story of a writer whose life turns upside down as soon as his girlfriend knows about his past. The one brutal mistake unknowingly bounds him for eternity with his cunning lover.

Another tale sees a psycho lover that creates the illusion of true love for a prostitute and ends up killing her just to free her from her dreadful trapped life. Meanwhile, the third one sees a wife taking revenge on her husband who has been planning to kill her.

The facade behind each of the stories has been the illusion of love, while deception is a common take in all five tales.

Sandeepa Dhar and Abhaas Mehta can't be called bad with the respect to their performances, however, they bring nothing new to the table. The FIR fame Kavita Kaushik is a great actor to be witnessed in the series, who plays the role of a deceiver in disguise as a perfect wife. Kabir Sadanand and Amit Behl also serve their characters well.

There are multiple new actors in Tera Chhalaava such as Titiksha Shrivastava, Sumanto Ray and Archana Vadnerkar need a little brush up in their acting skills to at least make their performances look less struggling. 

Meanwhile, there are a few fresh latent, who do not disappoint. Anveshi Jain and Dhiraj Totlani try to give their best, although, the jump cuts between the sequences, loosely executed show and the bad dialogues do overshadow the great mysterious stories.

Despite multiple flaws in direction as well as performances, the mystery crime thriller keeps you hooked. One of the best parts of each of the tales is that all of them are small and gladly don't stretch the story. As well as the predictable yet startling climax of each of the episodes saves the drowning ship.

Verdict:

Tera Chhalaava is not the best watch on OTT, however, it is a one-time treat for a mystery-thriller fanatic as it keeps you engaged.
