Story:

The story of the new episode follows mostly Connie or the meemaw, Georgie and Sheldon. It indicates at Georgie's 'two ex-wives and his own family' arc that was talked about in the finale of The Big Bang Theory.

Review:

The new episode of Young Sheldon Season 5 is back after a hiatus. The show has been releasing its episodes sporadically and this time, it seems to have returned with a better episode with a slice-of-life drama that deals with romantic relationships and mental health.

The episode, 'A Solo Peanut, a Social Butterfly and the Truth' opens with the relationships of Connie and Georgie. Connie breaks up with her boyfriend and is seen day drinking in a bar with Mary. She draws an analogy between her life and peanuts, which is quite interesting. Her comparison of relationships with peanuts and the way she says it is hilarious. George Cooper who starts working with Connie's boyfriend at his store gets caught up in the middle of all the breakup stuff.

The new episode has some connection with its parent series, The Big Bang Theory. The series also talks about how Sheldon starts considering himself the 'social glue' that holds the group together after he befriends his neighbours in his college dorm. One of the biggest revelations about his future self, Sheldon reveals that he has children and has named one of them Leonard, after his best friend and roommate in Pasadena. The episode also hints at Georgie's life which was hinted at in The Big Bang Theory finale.

The episode also talks about mental health with Page returning to Sheldon's life hoping that he isn't coping well in his life and his life is as miserable as her. It sheds light on the pressure faced by outstanding students to always keep up. The new episode has a few life lessons. Clubbed with some anecdotes from the parent show, The Big Bang Theory, it makes for an engaging watch but fingers crossed, we do not want to set our expectations and hopes high, only to be crushed like it has earlier.

After a few episodes that quite didn't work in the favour of the show, Young Sheldon seems to be taking an interesting turn. But hope it is not just for one such episode and the makers continue to keep it engaging with new plotlines.

Verdict:

The episode has several references to The Big Bang Theory and a few revelations which makes it interesting. We just hope it continues to produce engaging content.
