Story:

George Sr finds himself in the soup. His job as a football coach is in jeopardy and he doesn't seem to care about anything else right now, including Sheldon, according to Mary. Missy is seen struggling from being bullied for her hairy legs after she secretly carries a mini skirt to school to wear without the knowledge of her mother.

Review:

The latest episode of the series 'A Lot of Band-Aids and the Cooper Surrender' is just bearable. The makers should probably stop making the show. They are instead trying to save it with some references or bits of Sheldon's life connected to The Big Bang Theory.

The new episode shows Sheldon befriending a bunch of undergrad students who stay in the dorm, next to his room. Sheldon goes to them, complaining about the loud music that they have been playing. But he learns it's not the loud rock and roll but sounds from a video game the nerds are into. They invite Sheldon to play and he accepts the offer. However, Sheldon never mentioned these bunch of nerd friends he made in college on The Big Bang Theory. They'd probably have a fall-out as he did with Tam Nguyen. Sheldon had never mentioned him too on the Big Bang even though Young Sheldon had the character of Tam. But the makers could correct it immediately with a slight change in the plot since The Big Bang Theory was on air at that point. Older Sheldon on the show spoke about Tam towards the end of the show, justifying why he had never spoken about him. He had mentioned the fall-out with Tam and how he never met him for years until then. Sheldon would probably have a fall-out with his geeky dorm neighbours too. The episode also portrays Sheldon's fascination for the Dragons and Dungeons game and his introduction to Chinese food. But Sheldon is someone known to never like any changes in his routine but he quickly agrees with his new friends and calls home to seek permission to stay late in his dorm.

George's career is in jeopardy after his team fails to win a match and becomes the talk of the town. He appears disinterested in his personal life with his children which Mary starts cribbing about. He later reveals to her that he might lose the job and the two hug it out. After quite a lot of bickering, it is adorable to see the two casually hugging on hearing the bad news.

Mary as the overbearing parent can be annoying. She gets too protective of Missy and Sheldon. She doesn't allow Missy to buy a mini skirt that she wants to wear to school but Meemaw ends up buying for her after Mary strictly says no to wearing it until she wears tights below it. Missy secretly packs it and goes to school and changes her clothes only to be ridiculed by some girls. It looks like it was done intentionally. Being Christain that the family is and since the show is being watched by children, the makers would have probably thought to teach a lesson to children - that they should obey their parents and this is what happens if they don't. It would have been a lot more fun to see Missy being confident that she feels when she wears it first as she goes around in the school. But instead, she ends up trying to shave her legs with her mother's razor and gets hurt. She ends up with a lot of band-aids as mentioned in the title with the help of Meemaw.

The episode would have been slightly interesting if it had more of Meemaw and her sarcastic dialogues as the other characters only seem to get annoying with each episode.

Verdict:

The Young Sheldon makers are just trying to save the show by revealing bits of his life, connected to The Big Bang Theory.
