Young Sheldon S5 Ep 19 review: Cooper family is shattered with Georgie's big news and it's fun to watch

Story:

The new episode, titled 'A God-Fearin' Baptist and a Hot Trophy Husband' is about Cooper family trying to deal with the news of Georgie getting Mandy pregnant. As Georgie has done exactly what his parents had done, they feel awkward and struggle to give him the best advice. And Mary, as Christian as she can be, proposes that he marries Mandy.

Review:

The new episode, titled 'A God-Fearin' Baptist and a Hot Trophy Husband' opens with George Sr and Mary freaking out about Georgie's big news. Georgie's unapologetic and pretty chilled out attitude is fun to watch. He is the only one among everyone who knows who doesn't seem tense at all. He even offers to go meet Mandy's parents while she tells them the news. But later, seeing him following Mandy around offering help to take care of her through the nine months of pregnancy and later with the baby, was very mature. One doesn't know how serious is he about the whole episode but it is quite interesting to see his character graph growing in one episode.

Meanwhile, Missy and Sheldon are seen putting their thinking caps on and decoding what is going on in their house as find something fishy. Mary and George Sr insist on meeting Mandy to talk about the whole situation and as predicted, it brings up about topic of their wedding in the conversation. Mary asks George if he regrets getting married to her and felt obliged to marry as she was pregnant with his child, leading to a huge fight. But Meemaw offers a great support to Mandy, telling her that she completely understands what's going on as she faced the similar situation with her daughter. The episode shows growing bonds between Meemaw and Mandy.

The new episode picks up about George Sr cheating on Mary again. It hints at George Sr possibly cheating Mary with Brenda again. The way she gets all tense up when Missy suggests that her mother would have found out about her dad cheating drops a few hints.

The show is finally picking up and drawing all dots in Sheldon's life with the stories he shares in the parent show, The Big Bang Theory. And it is at least getting funny with its sarcastic dialogues.

Verdict:

The story is getting interesting. The episode ends with a fun cliffhanger and one can't wait to watch how would Missy and Sheldon react when they learn that they've got it all wrong and that they aren't as smart as they think about themselves.
