Review:

Season 5 of Young Sheldon has come to an end with episode 22, titled, 'A Clogged Pore, a Little Spanish and the Future'. The show was all about the Cooper family trying to pull it all together as Sheldon is seen hitting puberty.

The finale featured some guest stars. Though experimenting is nice, having people impersonate a pimple and pus and advice, however, did not land well. It was jarring to see them pop up in between the scenes of the show. Sheldon deals with the fact that he is entering adulthood but as that is not the focus of the episode entirely, which should have been, it does not hit a chord with you until you find the easter egg related to The Big Bang Theory. Spoiler Alert! It shows Sheldon speaking about his dreams of meeting Professor Proton, working with Stephen Hawking, getting a PhD and winning a Nobel. He is also seen mentioning for the first time that his children would be amazing, considering his brilliant mind. He is also seen wearing the flash t-shirt for the first time. His look is very well created and he looks quite like Jim Parsons, who played the role of Sheldon Cooper in the parent show, The Big Bang Theory.

The makers try to be funny with the dream sequence in the episode but though the multiple characters built for the scene are great, it does not even make you giggle.

Meanwhile, George Sr quits his job as the school offers the position to Wayne. With Mary too out of job, the couple tries to work together and find themselves some work. But George Sr feels too proud to work at a supermarket, which suits his qualifications. Mary asks Brenda to hire her at the bar. The hesitation by Brenda and later, George Sr on learning about it, shows that there is something fishy. The makers had earlier hinted at the two getting close but did not clearly show if Brenda is the one Sheldon catches his father cheating with.

And since its finale, all the main characters from the family drama had to be there. Georgie is seen taking more responsibility and trying to earn more as he is going to have a baby, which is very unlike his personality shown so far, at least till they show that he got a woman pregnant. In The Big Bang, Sheldon describes him as a dim-witted and careless person. He decides to go on a road trip to Mexico to buy cheaper cigarettes and sell them at the casino that he is running illegally with Meemaw. Meemaw too accompanies him as she knows a bit of Spanish but the two end up in jail.

What's exciting about the episode is its easter eggs related to The Big Bang Theory, which will make you eager to watch what's in store in Season 6. Also, it will be interesting to find out if George Sr and Brenda are having an affair and if so, how will they manage to continue with Mary now working for Brenda.

Verdict:

The finale has some easter eggs for the fans of The Big Bang Theory and they are the most interesting and exciting aspects of the show, which will make you more eager to wait for Season 6. The show has already been renewed for two more seasons.
