The series revolves around the harsh realities of parenthood, painting a much bleaker picture than the standard rose-tinted representations. Paul and Ally are utterly exhausted with their two kids; he is more of a cusser whereas she keeps if violently restrained. The new season depicts them dealing with their kids more directly and the consequences of their bitterness are reflected in their kid's anxiety issues. Martin Freeman, best known for Sherlock, plays Paul.
