The coming-of-age series, set in 1990s Northern Ireland, centres around a group of friends attending a Catholic girls' school in the latter years of the Troubles. The friends still manage to have fun despite the internal tension and upheaval. Getting involved in your brand of mischief is essential to surviving the Troubles. During the previous season, James had to decide whether to stay in Derry or move back to England with his estranged mother. Eventually, he proudly refers to himself as a 'Derry Girl' and decides to stay in Derry alongside his buddies. Created by Lisa McGee, the series stars Saoirse-Monica Jackson, Jamie-Lee O’Donnell, Nicola Coughlan, Louisa Harland and Dylan Llewellyn as Eri, Michelle, Clare and James, respectively. The rest of the cast includes Louisa Harland, Tara Lynne O'Neill, Kathy Kiera Clarke, Tommy Tiernan, and Ian McElhinney, among others.
