Throughout the Hindu year, various Devi Vrats are observed to worship the Divine Mother in her many forms. Each vrat has a sacred story (katha) showing how Devi protects, blesses, and uplifts her devotees. On Durga Ashtami and Navratri, Maa Durga destroys demons like Mahishasura and Raktabija. In Katyayani Vrat, she helps young girls find worthy life partners. Mangala Gauri and Jaya Parvati Vrats are kept by women for the well-being of husbands and family. Varalakshmi Vrat brings wealth and blessings from Maa Lakshmi. Ahoi Ashtami is observed by mothers for their children’s safety. In Santoshi Mata Vrat, the Goddess grants peace to the poor and suffering.
