Godfather of Harlem was critically acclaimed, mostly due to its plot and the fact that it became a perfect example of portraying the potential of modern-day television. This crime drama is based on true and real incidents and explores the life of infamous drug kingpin Bumpy Johnson. The crux of this movie depicts the return of Bumpy from ten years in prison, only to find the Italian mob ruling the neighborhood that he used to control once. Forest Whitaker, in the character of Bumpy, affixes to the role as well as with the audience, glazed with the effort to connect with his family.
