Suryaved Vrat is a sacred fast dedicated to Surya Dev (the Sun God), observed for inner clarity, health, and spiritual awakening. It is believed that just as the sun dispels darkness from the world, this vrat removes ignorance, disease, and bad karma from one’s life. The main story tells of a king named Vibhutiman, who was blind since birth. Despite many efforts, he found no cure until a sage advised him to observe the Suryaved Vrat — fasting on Sundays, offering water (Arghya) to the Sun, chanting Aditya Hridaya Stotra, and serving the needy. On the seventh Sunday, his vision was miraculously restored by the grace of Surya Dev. Those who observe this vrat with devotion are blessed with good health, wisdom, strong leadership, and the ability to overcome challenges. It is especially beneficial for eye problems, confidence, and solar (Surya) doshas in astrology.
