Taboo

Set in 1814, the series follows James, a man with a scarred and mysterious past, who has been on many disastrous adventures and has been considered to be long dead. He returns to his home in London from Africa to reassess his inheritance and his father's shipping empire and salvage some of it. But his attempts at transforming his life are challenged by old enemies of his fathers, treacheries, family deceits and festering secrets. Tom Hardy, best known for the Mad Max: Fury Road, Warrior, The Dark Knight Rises, films, plays the protagonist. The cast includes Oscar-nominated actress Jessie Buckley and Stephen Graham. Oscar-nominated Steven Knight has directed the series.
