West Indies played some quality cricket against Pakistan in the 3-match ODI series that ended a few days back. After losing the first match, they went on to win the next two and clinch the series, 2-1. Moreover, Pakistan batters' performances have drawn a lot of criticism after the end of the series. There are players like Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam who have failed to perform throughout the series.

Former Pakistan cricketer Basit Ali slammed the senior players during a conversation on the Game Plan. Ali also mentioned that they 'don't listen' to their coaches, which is why the performance has been quite low recently. He urged the selection committee to look into the matter for the future of the team.

"They're living up to the performances they did during the beginning of their careers. Ab inse bas advertisements kara lo (Let them just do ads now)," said Basit Ali on The Game Plan.

"They don't listen to the coaches. Whatever the batting coaches say, they just keep pretending to listen to them. They need someone who can give them a wake-up call, like Inzamam, Yousuf or a Younis Khan. And they know there's no one who would do that, because they didn't let anyone do it before," he added.

While Basit spoke about Babar, former cricketer Kamran Akmal came in favour of the batter and suggested that he should 'priotise Pakistan' whenever he is on the field. Currently, Babar's performance is an important matter for the selectors considering the upcoming Asia Cup 2025. Pakistan will announce the squad later this month.

"I can guarantee that I haven't seen ego in him. He respects his family and meets everyone respectfully. But what I want from him is, when he enters the field, he doesn't act bigger than the game. Prioritise Pakistan. The investments he made in some players during his tenure as Pakistan captain didn't favour the country, too," said Kamran Akmal.
