The Indian cricket team put up 256 runs on the board against Zimbabwe in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2026. It was an incredible batting performance by the Indian team as they got the important start from Sanju Samson and Abhishek Sharma in the game. Samson was dismissed on 24 runs but he did hit one boundary and two sixes.

Meanwhile, Abhishek Sharma scored 55 runs before getting out. After his dismissal, Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, and Tilak Varma wreaked havoc on the Zimbabwe bowling attack, making sure India post a huge total on the board. While SKY scored 38 runs, Pandya scored an unbeaten 50 off 23 balls, while Varma hit 44 off 16 balls, including three boundaries and four sixes.

Zimbabwe's bowling was way out of line and length which became the main reason behind the high score. Moreover, they seemed to be out of confidence as well after getting hit for 254 runs against West Indies in the previous match. It will be interesting to see by how many runs India will win the match against Zimbabwe.

How does India's qualification scenarios look from here?

South Africa defeated West Indies in the previous game which went on to help India. Now, the Men in Blue do not have to care about the NRR and will look to focus on the match. After winning against Zimbabwe, they'll have to win against West Indies to make it to the semi-finals. That game will become the virtual quarter-finals as well.

India's batting attack looked in form today and the same will be expected from them in the upcoming matches as well. If India qualify for the semi-finals, they'll face either England or New Zealand, who are tough teams to beat, especially with their current form. The semi-final is still wide open for Group 1, making it even more interesting.
