Asia Cup 2023: Blockbuster India vs Pakistan clash on cards, but venue not yet known

India and Pakistan being placed in the same group would undoubtedly thrill cricket fans and their wish has come true as the two sides will lock horns in the Men's ODI Asia Cup 2023.

On January 5, the groups for the 2023 Asia Cup - which will take place in September - were announced by Jay Shah, President of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC). 

The arch-rivals were placed in the same group as Qualifier 1 while the other group is made up of Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Afghanistan. 

While fans will await the tournament to take place, the venue for the Asia Cup 2023 is not yet known. In the announcement, the venue was noticeably absent.

Despite being the tournament's official host, Pakistan may not be able to organize the game there as India is unwilling to send its cricketers to the neighboring country.

India and Pakistan will play each other four times in 2023:

– Women's T20 Emerging Asia Cup: June

– Men's Emerging Asia Cup: July

– Men's ODI Asia Cup: September

– Men's U19 Asia Cup: December.

Talking about the Asia Cup, last year, Sri Lanka were crowned champions after they defeated Pakistan in the final summit in September 2022. India were unable to make it to the final after losing in the Top 4.
