As of the time of writing this article, the Indian contingent has amassed a total of 11 medals at the Hangzhou Asian Games 2023, comprising two gold, three silver, and six bronze medals.

Additionally, Hangzhou presents opportunities for earning Paris 2024 Olympic quotas, with a total of 74 quotas available across various sports. These include six in archery, 10 in artistic swimming, 34 in boxing, two in breaking, two in hockey, 10 in modern pentathlon, six in sailing, two in tennis, and two in water polo.

During the previous edition in Jakarta 2018, a 570-strong Indian squad achieved a historic feat, securing their best-ever Asian Games performance with a remarkable tally of 70 medals, including 16 gold, 23 silver, and 31 bronze medals. With an expanded contingent size, expectations are high for an even more impressive medal count this time around.
