The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the central contract for the Indian men's senior team on Monday, April 21. The annual player retainership covers the period from October 1, 2024, to September 30, 2025. The apex body has released a list of 34 players who have been awarded central contracts across four grades: A+, A, B, and C.
There hasn't been any change made to the A+ grade category. It includes four players: Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja.

Team India's attacking wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant has been promoted from Grade B to A. Pant's promotion indicates BCCI's long-term vision for the player as well as the team.
On the other hand, Ravichandran Ashwin, who announced retirement from international cricket during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25, has been excluded from the contract list.
Shreyas Iyer, who was previously excluded from the BCCI contracts due to missing out on domestic cricket, has now been added to Grade B. The player showcased strong performances in the recently held ICC Champions Trophy 2025. Other players in Grade B include Suryakumar Yadav, Yashavi Jaiswal, Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav.
Ishan Kishan, who was dropped for missing domestic matches, has been added to Grade C of the BCCI central contracts. It also includes new faces in the form of Rinku Singh, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Shivam Dube, Washington Sundar, Ravi Bishnoi, etc.
