India's former cricketer and head coach, Rahul Dravid, received the Col. C.K. Nayudu Lifetime Achievement Award at the BCCI Naman Awards on March 15 in Delhi. He has scored more than 10,000 runs in ODIs and Tests and was known as 'The Wall' for the kind of cricket he has played in overseas conditions.

He spoke in length about the way BCCI has helped him grow as a cricketer. He also praised the infrastructure and facilities made by the board over the time that has helped millions of players in the past and is about to change lives in the future. Cricket has grown fast in India and since BCCI has spotted talented players throughout the country, the squads look quite competent.

"BCCI has played a huge role in my life and in my career. Right from giving me the opportunity as an individual to grow and develop as a cricketer but also in being able to spread this game all over the country. You know when I look at the talent that is coming from all parts of the country today, a large part of is due to the infrastructure, facilities, and coaching in every nook and corner of the country," said Rahul Dravid at the Naman Awards.

I'm very proud and grateful: Rahul Dravid

The former head coach spoke about how proud he was seeing the players thrive in their careers. He credited the management for handling the players well and winning the trophy. Dravid was one of the players of his generation and as his term ended as head coach, he won the T20 World Cup 2024.

"I'm very proud and grateful to see the way the next generation continues to carry that on, and the kind of successes that we have had are a great credit to the current management, the current team and everyone involved with Indian cricket. So we all have our time in the game, and we have to do our bit, and I've tried to do the best that I can, and I've been inspired by generations before me, and it's just amazing to see that generations ahead of us continue to, in fact, take it to another level," he added.
