Deepika Padukone creates history; first Indian to unveil FIFA World Cup 2022 trophy

Making the nation proud, Deepika Padukone became the first Indian to present the FIFA trophy at the World Cup 2022 Final between Argentina and France. The FIFA World Cup trophy was escorted by the celebrity in a specially commissioned truck and unveiled at the Lusail Stadium.

The trophy weighs 6.175 kg and is made of 18-carat gold and malachite. Deepika Padukone walked in with FIFA legend and former Spanish Professional Footballer, Iker Casillas Fernandez and this surely became a momentous occasion for India.

The superstar in front of a crowded stadium appeared absolutely breathtaking in a white shirt, a brown overcoat, and a black belt.

The actor, producer, entrepreneur, and mental health advocate with this development adds yet another highlight to her global achievements.

She had earlier represented India at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival where she served as a jury member and even became the only Indian to make the list of the Top 10 Most Beautiful Women in the World according to the "Golden Ratio of Beauty." 

She is the only Indian to be selected as the worldwide face for iconic pop culture brands like Levi's and Adidas as well as high-end luxury labels like Louis Vuitton and Cartier.

Talking about the clash, Argentian and France are tied 3-3 after extra time and the game has entered the penalty shootouts. While Lionel Messi has two goals to his name with Ángel Di María adding the third, Kylian Mbappe has a hattrick.
