F1 Canadian Grand Prix 2025: When and where to watch round 10 of racing season

Only 9 races into the 2025 Formula 1 season and McLaren is in incredible form what with Oscar Piastri winning 5 and teammate Lando Norris 2, leaving defending champion Max Verstappen with 2 only. Given that Verstappen managed to notch up yet another drivers’ championship with only 7 wins in 2024, Piastri seems set to keep the Dutchman out of the race this season. The Canadian Grand Prix was one of Verstappen’s 7 wins in 2024, and he had a good run in free practice this time. Will Piastri or Norris put their best effort into qualifying and keep him out of the front row, though?

Drivers standing after Race 9

24-year-old Oscar Piastri, who is only in his third year with McLaren, had ended 2024 in fourth position in the Drivers’ Championship. This year, he’s on a mission to put his name along with the greats of the sport. He is leading the drivers’ championship with 186 points, but teammate Lando Norris, who was in a fight for the title with Verstappen last year, is nipping at his heels with 176 points. Verstappen is 49 points behind Piastri at 137, while George Russel is in fourth place with 111 and Charles Leclerc in fifth at 94.

Constructors' standing after Spanish Grand Prix

Defending constructors’ champions McLaren are miles ahead of nearest competitor Ferrari, what with both Piastri and Norris dominating the first third of the 25 race season. McLaren has 362 points, while Ferrari is way behind with only 165 points in their tally so far.
