F1 Drivers’ Championship: Only 4 races remain in the 2024 F1 calendar, and 120 points are at stake. Can Norris prevent a fourth title for Verstappen?

47 points are all that separate Max Verstappen and Lando Norris in the Drivers’ Championship standing. But there are only 4 races left in the 2024 F1 Calendar, including the Brazilian Grand Prix this week, which includes a Sprint race as well.
A sum total of 120 points are still up for grabs for either driver as race and sprint winner in these 4 remaining events of the year. Is Max Verstappen winning the Drivers’ Championship a fourth consecutive time or does Lando Norris have a shot at upstaging him.
Norris’ chances do look slim, given that there are only 4 races remaining, but there’s still a possibility of him winning the Championship. Here’s a look at what has to happen in the remainder of the season for Norris to win his first Drivers’ Championship.
Verstappen currently has 362 points, while Norris has 315. At 25 points per win and 1 each for fastest lap, that’s 104 points that are yet to come to the race winners, as well as 16 points for the two Sprint Races. Norris needs to have a 12-point gain over Verstappen in each race. For instance, if Norris wins a race and Verstappen comes in at 4th or lower, this will be easily achievable.
If, however, on the off chance the drivers end up in a tie, the one with the most title wins will be adjudged winner. At the moment, Verstappen has 7, while Norris has 3, and even if the latter wins all 4 of the remaining races, the number of second position results are factored in. Here, Norris has a slight advantage at 6:4.

At the moment, Norris is still in the title hunt, but a couple of podiums for Verstappen and it will al be over. Norris’ team, though, fancies taking the Constructors’ Championship home. McLaren is currently in the lead, although Ferrari is not far behind.
