This weekend, F1 roars back into action with the Heineken Dutch Grand Prix, after a nearly month-long summer break, that included two weeks of a complete shutdown for all teams, giving drivers and crew members well deserved rest.

The summer break came into effect after the Belgian Grand Prix, and picks up again on the weekend of August 23 to 25. In India, the F1 practice sessions, qualifying and the race can be streamed live on FanCode.

Here’s the schedule of events at the Dutch Grand Prix 2024

DATE EVENT TIME
August 23 Practice 1 4.30 pm
August 23 Practice 2 7.30 pm
August 24 Practice 3 3.30 pm
August 24 Qualifying 6.30 pm
August 25 Race 6.30 pm

The Dutch Grand Prix is a 72-lap race around the Circuit Zandvoort, each round constituting 4.259 km for a total of 306.587 km. Max Verstappen is the defending champion at the Dutch Grand Prix; a race he’s won thrice consecutively already. However, Red Bull Racing’s lead driver has not been in peak form this season, winning only 7 of the 14 races so far.

Verstappen still has a sizeable lead over nearest challenger Lando Norris in the Drivers’ Championship, but with 10 races to go, the tables could turn. This is, however, Verstappen’s home turff and he would want to continue his dominance here. But he has been vocal about not feeling too confident about his chances this time around. Unlike his absolute dominance in last year’s season, Verstappen has had a bit of a struggle with his car.

In the Constructors’ Championship, Red Bull Racing is still at the top, but McLaren has already edged past Ferrari to grab second spot. After the Dutch Grand Prix, the teams will head to Italy next weekend, after which there’s a 2-week gap again before Round 17 in Azerbaijan. The second half of the racing calendar is set to get very interesting indeed.
