F1 Italian Grand Prix 2024: When and where to watch Round 16 of racing calendar

Three-time Dutch Grand Prix winner and defending Driver’s Championship winner Max Verstappen failed to clinch victory on home ground last weekend. Lando Norris, who started the race from pole position, and was passed by Verstappen once, managed to get back into the lead and win the race comfortably. This was Norris’ second win of the season, which narrowed down his points gap with Verstappen to 70, a not-too-distant target that is more than achievable with 9 races to go for the year.

Up next, the teams head to Italy for the Pirelli Gran Premio D’Italia – the Italian Grand Prix – that will be held between August 30 and September 1. There will be two practice sessions on August 30, one on August 31, followed by Qualifying and the race on September 1. In India, all F1 action can be streamed live on FanCode.

The top 10 drivers are as follows – Max Verstappen (295), Lando Norris (225), Charles Leclerc (192), Oscar Piastri (179), Carlos Sainz (172), Lewis Hamilton (154), Sergio Perez (139), George Russell (122), Fernando Alonso (50) and Lance Stroll (24). But for the top 5-6 drivers, no one else really stands a chance to put up a fight for the Drivers’ Championship.

In the Constructors’ Championship, though, Red Bull Racing is still in the lead (434), but with only 30 points setting it apart from nearest competitor, McLaren (404). Ferrari is a further 34 points behind at (370), while Mercedes is far behind at 276. Here, the competition is, undoubtedly between Red Bull Racing, McLaren and Ferrari, and with only 9 races to go, including in Italy, the top 3 will look at getting some valuable championship points on board from both of their drivers.

After the Italian Grand Prix, there’s an almost 2 week break before the action shifts to Azerbaijan. The season ends on December 8 with the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
