Former player endorses Cameron Green as ideal fit for CSK in IPL 2026 auction

Srikkanth's Perspective on CSK's Auction Strategy

In a recent discussion, Srikkanth highlighted that Cameron Green, a medium-pace all-rounder, would be a perfect fit for CSK's lineup. He emphasized the importance of retaining players like Nathan Ellis, suggesting that with the top seven positions already solidified, the team could focus on acquiring players to provide depth and cover for injuries. Srikkanth also advised CSK to approach the auction with a substantial purse to enhance their chances of building a robust squad.

Regarding potential releases, Srikkanth recommended letting go of players such as Devon Conway, Rachin Ravindra, Sam Curran, and Jamie Overton. He noted that while Curran has the potential to perform well elsewhere, he has yet to deliver consistently in the IPL. Srikkanth also suggested that CSK could consider re-acquiring players like Ravindra at a lower price if they choose to release him.

Green's recent form has been impressive; since returning from injury in July, he has averaged 43 with a striking rate of 168.62 in eight T20I matches. His all-round capabilities could provide the balance CSK seeks to strengthen their squad for the upcoming season.
