The major action on June 4 at the French Open in Roland Garros begins with two quarter-final matches in the Women’s Singles category. Taking to the court first will be Coco Gauff and Ons Jabeur, followed by World No 1 and defending champion Iga Swiatek, who will take on 2023 Wimbledon champ Marketa Vondrousova. The matches are being held on centre court, which has a roof, and hence, will not be affected by rain. Following these two matches two men’s singles quarter-finals will be held at the venue.

Here’s who is taking centre court today in the women’s singles category; head-to-head record.

Coco Gauff and Ons Jabeur have played each other 6 times earlier, with the former leading 4:2 in head-to-head stakes. Iga Swiatek, meanwhile, has won all 3 of her matches against Marketa Vondrousova so far. Gauff is expected to win the first match and set up a semi-final clash with Swiatek.

Road to the quarter-final stage

Coco Gauff beat Julia Avdeeva, Tamara Zidansek, Dayana Yastremska and Elisabetta Cocciaretto, to get to the Round of 8, while her opponent registered victories over Sachia Vickery, Camila Osorio. Leylah Annie Fernandez and Clara Tauson.

Iga Swiatek, meanwhile, beat Leolia Jeanjean, Naomi Osaka, Marie Bouzkova and Anastasia Popatova. In fact, the second-round match against Osaka was quite tough, as the latter had a match point against Swiatek at one point. The World No.1 had to rally from behind and win 5 consecutive games to finally swing things her way. Vondrousova’s road to the round of 8 include wins over Rebeka Masarova, Katie Volynets, Chloe Paquet and Olga Danilovic.
