The second Grand Slam of the year, the French Open is heading into finale week. This Sunday, June 2, the Round of 16 kicks off, and by June 8 it will all be over in the Women’s Singles. With half of the Round 3 (Round of 32) matches completed, 8 players have cemented their spots in the Round of 16 that will begin on June 2.

World No.1 and hot favourite for a fourth French Open title, Iga Swiatek celebrated her birthday by making it to the Round of 16 earlier on May 31. She will now play Anastasia Potapova. The other confirmed Round of 16 contestants include Clara Tauson vs Ons Jabeur, Coco Gauff vs Elisabetta Cocciaretto and Olga Danilovic vs Marketa Vondrousova.

The round 3 matches yet to be played are Mirra Andreeva vs Peyton Steams, Qinweng Zheng vs Elina Avanesyan, Varvara Gravecha vs Irina-Camelia Begu, Elise Mertens vs Elena Rybakina, Bianca Andreescu vs Jasmine Paolini, Elina Svitolina vs Ana Bogdan, Paula Badosa vs Aryna Sabalanka and Madison Keys vs Emma Navarro, which will be held on June 1.

The round of 16 matches will be held on June 2 and June 3 owing to the rain disruptions in Roland Garros. The Quarter-finals will be June 4. Rest days are June 5 for the semi-finalists and June 6 for the finalists. In the men’s singles draw, Jannik Sinner and Matteo Arnaldi have progressed to the round of 16, with their next opponents yet to be determined.
