The clay court Slam, the French Open 2025 will draw to a close this weekend; defending champion Carlos Alcaraz has already sealed his place for the semi-finals on June 6, 2025, where he will meet Lorenzo, whose career best at a grand slam so far is the semi-final appearance at Wimbledon 2024, which he lost against Novak Djokovic.
The second set of semi-finalists are yet to be determined, with world no.1 Jannik Sinner to take on Alexander Bublik and then, Novak Djokovic facing Alexander Zverev on June 4, 2025. All matches can be streamed live on Sony LIV and Fan Code, both of which are available on OTTPlay Premium.
In the men’s singles category, Djokovic is eyeing a 25thGrand Slam, but getting there is not going to be easy, what with Zverev the immediate stumbling block. Djokovic has a 8-5 head-to-head advantage over Zverev, which includes their last encounter at the Australian Open, where the Serbian gave the latter a walkover after the first set, retiring hurt. Interestingly, Djokovic has won all of their earlier Grand Slam appearances, French Open (2019), Australian Open (2021) and US Open (2021).
Sinner began the year defending his title in Australia, but was then out of action for three months, serving a WADA suspension in a doping case from the prior season. The French Open and Wimbledon are the only two Slams that have evaded him so far, with semi-final outings being his best to date. Last year, Sinner lost to Alcaraz, who went on to win the title.
Sinner has played Bublik four times so far and has conceded only one ‘defeat’, when he retired injured at the Halle Open in 2023. The Italian heads into the quarter-final match with a 3-1 advantage over Bublik
