Frustrated KKR player denied to respond to journalist on batting form ahead of IPL 2026

Australia’s all-rounder Cameron Green has found himself under scrutiny as he denied to answer a journalist’s question after winning the Player of the Match award in the Sheffield Shield 2025-26 season. In the match 28, he slammed 135 from 254 balls with six cracking boundaries and five huge sixes for Western Australia against New South Wales. The match ended up being a draw but Green ended up winning the POTM award for a stellar performance.
After the match, a journalists’ meet was arranged where Green was also present and all the questions were pointed out towards him. Moreover, it was already advised to the journalists to stick to the Sheffield Shield matches only. Green was asked about the lean patch he had for Australia to which he denied to reply. He simply said, “I’m not answering that question, Next question.”
The interview was stopped midway and turned ugly as the journalist didn’t look pleased and so was the cricketer. Before leaving, he said, “Waste of time. Why are you out to get me?" After Green left, Western Australia assistant coach Beau Casson stepped in and apologised to the journalist for the player’s misbehavior.
Cameron Green to join KKR training camp soon for IPL 2026
The Australian all-rounder Cameron Green will join the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) camp ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026. He is an integral part of the squad as KKR bought him for Rs. 25.20 crores (US$3.0 million). With this amount, he became the most expensive player in the history of the tournament.
The all-rounder missed the IPL in 2025 but was sold as a whopping amount speaks volumes about the player’s performance in the T20s. He plays in many tournaments worldwide and has gathered enough experience. Hence, his demand in the IPL has increased over the past few years. This time he will be looking forward to performing for his new franchise.
