Chelsea Football Club has officially announced the signing of Argentine winger Alejandro Garnacho from Manchester United. The 21-year-old has penned a long-term contract with the Blues, keeping him at Stamford Bridge until 2032.
Garnacho, who celebrated his 21st birthday in July, arrives at Chelsea after making 93 Premier League appearances and scoring 16 goals for Manchester United.
Among his highlights is a spectacular bicycle kick goal against Everton that earned him the prestigious 2024 FIFA Puskas Award. Over the past two seasons, he has established himself as a key player in United’s squad.

Expressing his excitement about the move, Garnacho said, “It’s an incredible moment for my family and me to join this great club. I can’t wait to get started. Watching the Club World Cup and joining the world champions is special. We’re the best team in the world! It’s amazing to be here, and I’m very happy.”
Born and raised in Madrid, Garnacho developed through the youth academies of Getafe and Atletico Madrid before moving to Manchester in 2020 at the age of 16.
He made his senior debut for Manchester United in April 2022 as a substitute in a 1-1 draw against Chelsea, just prior to turning 18.

Garnacho quickly grew in prominence at United. In the 2022/23 season, he scored five goals in 34 appearances, including a dramatic last-minute winner at Fulham.
The following season, he became a regular starter, netting seven Premier League goals and making his Champions League debut, highlighted by a crucial goal in a 3-3 draw against Galatasaray.

His breakthrough continued in the 2024/25 season, where he played 58 games across all competitions for United, scoring 11 goals and providing 10 assists. Overall, Garnacho contributed to 48 goals in 144 appearances for the Red Devils.
Internationally, Garnacho earned his first call-up to the Argentina senior squad in March 2023 and made his debut that summer during a friendly win over Australia.
He was part of Argentina’s Copa America-winning team in 2024 and has amassed eight caps so far, often sharing the pitch with Chelsea teammate Enzo Fernandez.
