After a month off badminton, the BWF Tour is all set to return with the German Open 2023. The BWF Super 300 event will be the fifth tournament on the BWF Tour this year. From World No.4 Lee Zii Jia, Japanese No.1 Kodai Naraoka, Kunlavudt Vitidsarn, to Women's World No.1 Akane Yamaguchi, many top-seeded players will be competing in the tournament. As for Indian players, Laksya Sen is the only seeded Indian to be part of the tournament.

German Open schedule:

1st round– March 8 and March 9

2nd round– March 10

Quarter-final– March 11

Semi-final– March 12

Final – March 13

Indians in action:

Men's Singles:

Lakshya Sen of India is in the first quarter of the draw and will begin his campaign in the first round against France's Christo Popov. His main opponent will most likely be Malaysian top seed, Lee Zii Jia.

The other Indian in the Men's Singles is Kidambi Srikanth. He is currently ranked World No.19 and will be hoping to move up the rankings. The shuttler will face Rasmus Gemke of Denmark. He is yet to win a match on this year's tour. If he wins the first round, he will almost certainly face third seed Kodai Naraoka in the second round.

Mithun Manjunath is in the third quarter of the draws. He was recently crowned National Champion and will look to continue his success in the Super 300 event. He will be up against the tournament's fourth-seeded Loh Kean Yew.

Women's Singles:

Among women, Saina Nehwal will lead the charge. She is an unseeded player who will face fourth seed He Bing Jiao and sixth seed Ratchanok Intanon. Saina will most likely face Intanon in the tournament's second round.

Malvika Bansod is the only other Indian in Women's Singles besides Saina. Bansod is in the first quarter of the Women's draw, and in the first round, she will face China's fifth seed Wang Zhi Yi.

Mixed Doubles:

India's Sumeeth Reddy and Ashwini Ponnappoa are the only doubles players from India in the tournament. They will face Scotland's Andrew Hall and Julie MacPherson in the first round. Second-seeded pair Thom Giquel and Delphine Delrue are also present in the same quarter.
