Gautam Gambhir shares a heartfelt reply after MS Dhoni’s viral “smile” comment following India’s dominant win in the 2026 T20 World Cup final

The Indian cricket team's head coach Gautam Gambhir has always been serious and is definitely not a person who smiles more often. However, after winning the T20 World Cup 2026, Gambhir was seen smiling in the dressing room. The team played quality cricket throughout the tournament defeated New Zealand in the finals.
After winning the finals, MS Dhoni took to Instagram to post about the match and congratulated the entire team. He also went on to ask Gautam Gambhir to smile more. “Coach Sahab smile looks great on you, intensity with smile is a killer combo, very well done. Enjoy guys,” Dhoni added in the post.
During the RevSports event, Gambhir was asked about the post and how he felt about it to which he said that he was happy and would love to make the same comment someday.
"Good on him to come and watch the World Cup final. Good on him to ask me to smile, and I wish one day he could be in my position, and I can write the same thing, and hopefully, he can smile from the dugout," said Gautam Gambhir at the Revsports event.
Chennai Super Kings' former skipper MS Dhoni is all set to play in the IPL 2026. The franchise has confirmed the participation of Dhoni in the tournament. However, whether he will be an impact player or play the entire game is upto the management. Dhoni has been playing in the IPL since inception and is also one of the most successful captains in the tournament.
