Kohli’s dazzling career remains an inspiration, marked by his incredible consistency, fierce competitiveness, and an unrivalled hunger for runs and success.​

ODI records

  • Kohli holds the record for most centuries in ODI history, with 51 tons, breaking Sachin Tendulkar’s legendary mark of 49 centuries during the 2023 World Cup semi-final.​
  • He is also the second-highest ODI run-scorer of all time, surpassing Kumar Sangakkara (14,234 runs) and closing in on Tendulkar’s summit of 18,426 runs. Kohli’s tally stands at 14,255 runs from 305 matches at an average of 57.71 and a strike rate of 93.26.​
  • Kohli is also the fastest to score 8,000, 9,000, 10,000, 11,000, 12,000, 13,000 and 14,000 ODI runs by innings; his race to 14,000 was completed in only 287 innings, well ahead of previous records.​
  • Virat Kohli has the highest aggregate in a single World Cup edition: 765 runs in the 2023 ODI World Cup, a record for most runs by any player in any World Cup edition.​

  • Kohli finished his Test career with 9,230 runs at an average of 46.85, with 30 centuries and a top score of 254*.​
