The social media-cooked story of a rift between Shubman Gill and Hardik Pandya has been put to rest by both players after they posted an Instagram story for each other. The rift rumours between GT and MI skippers started during the IPL 2025 eliminator clash where both teams faced each other. A video of Gill declining a handshake with Pandya during the toss went viral, and the fans started to speculate about the rift between the two. One more clip of Hardik Pandya celebrating Gill's wicket wildly added fuel to the fire, which again was interpreted on social media.

As the rift air started to flow on the internet, Gujarat Titans skipper Shubman Gill came up with an Instagram story to dismiss all the rumours. The player posted a picture with Hardik and mentioned him, saying, "Nothing but love; don't believe everything you see on the internet."

Replying to Gill's story, Mumbai Indians skipper Hardik Pandya wrote, "Always Shubhu baby." This gesture between India's star players brought clarity to the fact that there is no rift between them.

Mumbai Indians to face Punjab Kings in IPL 2025 Qualifier 2

After a convincing win against GT, Hardik Pandya's MI is set to face Punjab Kings at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on June 1. Mumbai Indians have won five IPL titles, and they would be eyeing to add one more in their cabinet. The team has showcased excellent performance in the ongoing IPL 2025 season.

Punjab Kings, on the other hand, too, has played outstanding cricket throughout the season. However, the team was recently dominated by the RCB in Qualifier 1, where they faced an eight-wicket loss after getting out cheaply on 101 in 14 overs. Shreyas Iyer's PBKS would be hoping for a bounce back after a shocking performance.

The winner of Qualifier 2 will face Royal Challenger Bengaluru (RCB) in the IPL 2025 finals at the same venue on June 3.
