Hardik Pandya storms back into India’s plans after SMAT 2025 heroics

India's best all-rounder Hardik Pandya has once again proven his worth in the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2025. After making a comeback in the tournament post injury, Pandya slammed a half-century and helped Baroda win against Punjab in SMAT 2025. He scored 77 off 42 balls, including seven boundaries and four sixes. 

Pandya, who was playing his first match after recovering, bowled four overs and conceded 52 runs. He opened the bowling for Baroda but couldnt impress much with the ball. However, his bat did the talking. The fans were super happy with his performance and went on to praise him on social media. In fact, there was one fan who came inside the stadium to touch Pandya's feet in the first innings. 

Overall, it was a good match for the all-rounder and with this, he has sent the signal to BCCI that he is super fit and is ready to comeback into the Indian team for the upcoming South Africa series. The selectors will announce the squad for the T20I series after the ongoing ODI series. 

Will Hardik Pandya get a place in T20I series against South Africa?

Over the years, Hardik Pandya has been suffering from injuries from time to time. Being a pacer and a batter is always difficult which is why the injuries have been a constant in Pandya's life. However, there's another thing that has been consistent for Hardik and that is a good comeback. He has always worked hard and performed well for the Indian team which is why BCCI exempted him from the ODI squad to only focus on the upcoming T20 World Cup. 

The marquee event is set to be played from February 7 and Pandya looks ready. Selectors will take a look at his fitness test and announce the T20I squad for South Africa. Since the tournament is just two months away, there is likely to be very less chances of changes in the team.
