England became the first team to qualify for the semi-finals in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2026 by beating Pakistan by two wickets. The Three Lions captain Harry Brook played a captain'c knock and slammed a cnetury while chasing 165 runs in the second innings. England won their first match against Sri Lanka and now after a victory over Pakistan, they have booked a place in the semi-finals.

It was Pakistan's decision to bat first. However, they lost early wickets. But Sahibzada Farhan stayed till the end, and helped Pakistan reach a defendable total. He scored 63 off 45 balls, including seven boundaries and two sixes. The rest of the batters contributed little in the middle overs.

Liam Dawson, Jofra Archer, and Jamie Overton were the star bowlers, claiming three and two wickets, respectively. They were the reason behind Pakistan's moderate score in the first innings. The bowlers didn't allow the runs to flow and neither did they leak runs in the slog overs.

Harry Brook's century booked knockout berth for England

England's batting was no different that Pakistan. They too lost two early wickets and they failed to stitch partnerships. However, Harry Brook stayed around to help the team get past the victory line. He scored 100 off 51 balls, including ten boundaries and four sixes. He played an incredible game of cricket despite being under constant pressure.

The wickets kept falling from the other end but somehow England managed to win the game and qualify for the knockouts. Shaheen Afridi was in terrific form, taking four wickets in four overs. He conceded 30 runs but somehow managed to disrupt England's batting line-up.
