In the ongoing second ODI between India and Australia at Indore's Holkar Stadium, the Indian team provided batter Shreyas Iyer with another opportunity after his run-out in the previous game, and he certainly lived up to the expectations.

Despite the early dismissal of Ruturaj Gaikwad, Team India maintained their momentum as Shreyas Iyer and Shubman Gill formed a formidable partnership. Both batters continued to stand tall against the Australian bowlers, amassing over 100 runs together.

Iyer's brilliant performance included smashing a six to reach his half-century, marking his 15th fifty in ODI cricket. His achievement was acknowledged by his teammates, who applauded his achievement as he reached 50 runs in just 41 balls.

Iyer's resurgence at this crucial juncture, right before the ICC ODI World Cup 2023, has garnered significant attention on social media, with fans expressing their delight and welcoming him back to form. Cricket enthusiasts are relieved to see KL Rahul, Suryakumar Yadav, and Iyer regaining their form, dispelling concerns about their performance.

Australia's stand-in captain, Steve Smith, won the toss and chose to bowl in the second ODI match. As of the time of writing this article, India has scored 158 runs in 20 overs. Gill (69) and Iyer (74) are delivering a strong performance in Indore. Josh Hazlewood, making his return, secured the only wicket of Gaikwad (8).
