Here are the three major records India can break if they defeat New Zealand in Ahmedabad.

1. First team to win three T20 World Cup Titles

Currently, India (2007 and 2024) is tied with England and the West Indies, each with two titles. If they go on to win the final, beating New Zealand, they will become the first team to win three T20 World Cup titles and emerge as the most successful team in the history of the T20 World Cup.

2. First men’s team to successfully defend the title

In the nine previous editions of the tournament, no men's team has ever won back-to-back T20 World Cup titles. By beating New Zealand, they can become the first-ever men's team to achieve a successful title defence in T20 World Cup history.

3. First host nation to win at home

As Rohit Sharma said in the promo video for ICC, India can become the first host nation (in men's cricket) to win the T20 World Cup title. However, they will surely get a tough fight from New Zealand in the final.
