The ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict has divided the world. Some express sympathy for the Palestinians, while others support the Israelis. This divisive topic has even made its way into the ICC Men's ODI World Cup 2023. Recently, Pakistan wicket-keeper Mohammad Rizwan dedicated their team's victory over Sri Lanka – marking the highest chase in a World Cup match – to the people of Gaza.

His post read, "This was for our brothers and sisters in Gaza. Happy to contribute to the win. Credits to the whole team and especially Abdullah Shafique and Hassan Ali for making it easier. Extremely grateful to the people of Hyderabad for the amazing hospitality and support throughout".

However, in response to their disappointing loss against India on Saturday, Israel posted a message on X (formerly known as Twitter). The official handle of Israel wrote, "We were really moved by Indian friends showing their solidarity with Israel. We are happy that India emerged victorious in the #INDvsPAK match at #CWC23 and that Pakistan was unable to attribute its victory to the terrorists of #Hamas".

It's worth noting that Mohammad Rizwan has been facing significant backlash during the ICC Men's ODI World Cup 2023. In the India vs Pakistan match, he was seen offering namaz while at the batting crease. The Indian crowd also got involved, chanting 'Jai Shree Ram' as he walked back to the pavilion after he got out.

As for the match on Saturday in Ahmedabad, the hosts secured an easy victory. Guided by bowlers Jasprit Bumrah and Kuldeep Yadav, India restricted Pakistan to 191 runs. In response, Indian captain Rohit Sharma played a brisk innings, scoring 86, and the Men in Blue reached the target in just 35 overs. Shreyas Iyer also contributed a half-century in India's win, propelling them to the top of the points table.
