India vs England 2nd Test: Shubman Gill’s double century, followed by crucial strikes by Akash Deep and Mohammed Siraj have set up the test match beautifully. Here’s how to watch the action live

If Day 2 began with experts and fans hoping India could push the score to 400 to give themselves a chance, Day 3 starts with the same people believing that Shubman Gill and his team could take control of the game by bowling out England for under 250 in a rather flat pitch with irregular bounce, at Edgbaston.
Captain Gill’s 269 along with valuable contributions from all-rounders Ravidra Jadeja and Washington Sundar pushed India’s score to 587 all out (the highest total England has conceded in the past three years), before crucial strikes from Akash Deep and Mohammed Siraj dented England’s top order to leave them for 77/3 in 20 overs with the most accomplished batman Joe Root and Harry Brooks at the crease.
Gill had an unforgettable day on Thursday, when he broke multiple records. His score of 269 is the highest ever by an Asian captain in SENA (South Africa, England, New Zealand and Australia) countries. It’s also the highest ever by an Indian player in England and an Indian captain. He also ended the day with a stunning catch to get rid of last match’s centurion Ben Duckett off Deep’s bowling.
India has never won in Edgbaston, where they have played eight matches with just one draw and seven losses. Gill would be hoping to break that jinx in only his second match as a Test captain and that too with frontline pacer Jasprit Bumrah, sitting out.
Both Jadeja and Sundar’s spin would also come to the fore on Day 3.
Indians would be hoping to push home the advantage in the moving day of the Test as action begins at 3.30pm. Indian viewers can watch the match live, catch the updates and stream the highlights on JioHotstar, which is now available via OTTplay Premium.
