It will be intriguing to witness how Rohit Sharma and his side will fare in the second Test against England without the presence of stalwarts like Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, and Ravindra Jadeja. With the absence of these key players, the game, commencing on February 2 in Visakhapatnam, will pose to be difficult but also an opportunity for India to test their bench strength and stage a strong comeback following their loss in the potentially winning game in Hyderabad.

While the Men in Blue boast an impressive record at home, with no team managing to win a Test series on Indian soil. The last instance of a series of defeats for India at home occurred in 2012, and it was the English side that emerged victorious. It looks like history is repeating itself as the visitors have already begun the five-match series with a 28-run win.
The Indian setup also faced some setbacks ahead of the second game as KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja have been ruled out of the squad due to respective injuries. Jadeja is sidelined due to a hamstring issue while Rahul is dealing with pain in his right quadriceps.
With them out, a significant burden will fall on the middle order, especially considering Shubman Gill's below-par performance. As a result, all eyes will be on Sarfaraz Khan and Rajat Patidar, as either one or both of them might make their debuts in the match in Vizag. Washington Sundar, who has been called in as a replacement for Jadeja, is also likely to play as India seeks batting depth.
India is expected to stick with their combination of three spinners and two pacers, with Axar Patel, R Ashwin, and Washington Sundar/Kuldeep Yadav as the spinners, and Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj as the pacers. It will be interesting to see if this strategy is implemented in the second Test in Vizag.
