After Abhishek Sharma's 52 off 21, Sanju Samson's 89 off 46 deliveries, and Ishan Kishan's 54 off 25 balls, it was Shivam Dube's unbeaten 26 off 8 balls that took India's total to record-breaking 255/5 in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026 final at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Jimmy Neesham took three wickets in a single over to break India's momentum, but Dube's cameo helped India to the third-highest T20 World Cup total.

Abhishek Sharma, the No. 1 T20I batter in the world, who was short of runs throughout the campaign, scored the fastest 50 of this campaign and gave India the perfect start. It was Sharma's innings that took India's total to 92/0 after the first powerplay.
Sharma was dismissed by Rachin Ravindra after a 21-ball 52, but it was then the 105-run partnership between Ishan Kishan and Sanju Samson that gave India a perfect platform to finish strong.

Sanju Samson scored his third consecutive fifty of the tournament and became the only Indian player after Virat Kohli to score fifties in both the semi-final and final of the same T20 World Cup edition. Ishan Kishan gave Sanju Samson a perfect hand with a 25-ball 54.

However, it was James Neesham who broke the momentum with a three-wicket over, including Sanju Samson, Ishan Kishan, and Captain Surya Kumar Yadav.
Hardik Pandya (18 off 13) and Tilak Varma (8 off 6) struggled a bit with the bat, but it was Shivam Dube's 26 off 8 balls, including a 24-run final over against Neesham, that took India's total to a record-breaking 255/5 in the first inning.
