The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 has just begun, and so has the trolling. In Match 3 between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), KKR skipper Shreyas Iyer found himself at the centre of attention again, but for all the wrong reasons. The batter failed to make any contribution to his side, getting out for a duck. In fact, his dismissal marked SRH pacer T Natarajan's 50th IPL wicket.

Iyer came to the crease in the 3.5th over after the dismissal of Venkatesh Iyer, who departed for 7 runs. Shreyas Iyer's attempted drive found the toe of the bat, and SRH captain Pat Cummins, stationed at mid-off, took a leap to his left and grabbed a catch over his head. As soon as the wicket fell, netizens took to social media, particularly X (formerly known as Twitter), to troll the Indian batter who departed for a duck.

Currently, after 9 overs, KKR are in a bad position as they have lost 4 wickets and scored 66 runs. Opener Philip Salt is steady at the crease having scored 33 and is now joined by Ramandeep Singh (12). KKR batters Sunil Narine (2), Venkatesh Iyer (7) and Nitish Rana (9) fell in quick succession. For SRH, T Natarajan picked two wickets in an over while Mayank Markande has one to his name.

At the toss, Sunrisers Hyderabad opted to field at the iconic Eden Gardens. The four overseas players for SRH included captain Cummins, along with Marco Jansen, Heinrich Klaasen, and Aiden Markram. For KKR, the foreign players were Philip Salt, Sunil Narine, Andre Russell, and the highest-paid IPL acquisition, Mitchell Starc.

Sunrisers Hyderabad (Playing XI): Mayank Agarwal, Rahul Tripathi, Aiden Markram, Heinrich Klaasen(w), Abdul Samad, Shahbaz Ahmed, Marco Jansen, Pat Cummins(c), Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mayank Markande, T Natarajan
