IPL 2024 - WATCH Sanjay Manjrekar tell Wankhede crowd to 'behave' amid Hardik Pandya getting booed

Going a bit too far, Mumbai fans made sure to outdo the boos from Ahmedabad and Hyderabad as they did not welcome Mumbai Indians (MI) captain Hardik Pandya warmly. During the toss of Match 14 between MI and Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the Wankhede Stadium, fans started booing as soon as Hardik started to speak.

However, during that period, toss presenter Sanjay Manjrekar was welcoming the captains and when he introduced the MI skipper, he had to tell the crowd to 'behave' as they started booing for Pandya and chanting Rohit Sharma's name.

About MI vs RR:

The Mumbai franchise is in desperate need of a win after facing two defeats so far. They lost to Gujarat Titans (GT) and later in the mammoth run chase against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). Now returning home, fans would be hoping the side will turn their fortunes.

As for Rajasthan Royals, they will be looking forward to keeping their winning streak alive. With two clinical victories against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Delhi Capitals (DC), the Royals are one of only two teams yet to be beaten in the competition.

At the toss, Rajasthan Royals won and opted to bowl first. They made one change as Sandeep Sharma missed out as he was not fit and Nandre Burger came in. For MI, they go with an unchanged squad.
