Suryavanshi, who has been turning heads with his precocious talent, played a defining role in RR’s successful chase of 188. Opening the innings alongside Yashasvi Jaiswal, the young left-hander looked fearless from the start. The duo laid the foundation with a rapid 37-run stand in just 3.4 overs.
The youngster dazzled with his clean hitting and mature shot selection, racing to a half-century in just 27 balls. He brought up his maiden IPL fifty with a majestic six off CSK spinner Noor Ahmad, leaving fans and commentators in awe. Though his stay ended on 57 after being caught off Ravichandran Ashwin, who struck twice in one over, removing both Suryavanshi and RR skipper Sanju Samson, the job was largely done.
Thanks to the solid platform and a late blitz from Dhruv Jurel, who stayed unbeaten on 31 off just 12 deliveries, the Royals overhauled the target in just 17.1 overs, continuing their impressive campaign.
