Greek broke the 25 cr barrier

The auction's early fireworks saw Green spark a bidding frenzy among Mumbai Indians, KKR, and Chennai Super Kings. MI kicked off the chase, but KKR and CSK propelled the price beyond ₹16 crore before CSK retreated, handing KKR the prize asset at 25.20 cr.

The 26-year-old's explosive batting, seam bowling, and middle-order muscle make him a cornerstone for the 2024 Champions.

Pathirana also went to KKR

Pathirana's sale was equally electric. Delhi Capitals and Lucknow Super Giants drove bids past ₹9 crore, with DC pushing to ₹15.8 crore. KKR's late entry at ₹16 crore drew arena laughs, but they clinched the deal at ₹18 crore after LSG bowed out, the second-biggest buy of the day.

Iyer to RCB

RCB addressed middle-order voids by outbidding LSG, Gujarat Titans, and KKR for Venkatesh Iyer at ₹7 crore. The ex-KKR star's power-hitting and left-arm spin thrilled RCB fans.

RR joined the party, fending off CSK and Sunrisers Hyderabad to grab leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi at ₹7.20 crore, adding mystery spin to their arsenal.

LSG went for Hasaranga and Nortje

Lucknow Super Giants were proactive, signing Wanindu Hasaranga and South African quick Anrich Nortje (₹2 crore base price). Delhi Capitals smartly added opener Ben Duckett (₹2 crore), finisher David Miller (₹2 crore base), and now CSK's Akeal Hosein (₹2 crore), building depth economically.

Mumbai Indians reunited with Quinton de Kock at ₹1 crore base, while KKR grabbed Kiwi keeper-batter Finn Allen. RCB also picked Jacob Duffy at ₹2 crore.

A few stars went unsold

Shocks abounded with high-profiles unsold: Jake Fraser-McGurk, Prithvi Shaw (₹75 lakhs), Devon Conway (₹2 crore), Rachin Ravindra, Liam Livingstone (₹2 crore), Gus Atkinson (₹2 crore), Wiaan Mulder (₹1 crore), Sarfaraz Khan, Deepak Hooda (₹75 lakhs), Jonny Bairstow, Jamie Smith (₹2 crore), Rahmanullah Gurbaz, KS Bharat, Gerald Coetzee, Shivam Mavi (₹75 lakhs), Akash Deep (₹1 crore), Matt Henry, Spencer Johnson (₹1.5 crore), Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Maheesh Theekshana, Rahul Chahar, Fazalhaq Farooqi (₹1 crore), and uncapped stars like Atharav Taide, Anmolpreet Singh, Abhinav Tejrana, Abhinav Manohar, Yash Dhull, and Aarya Desai.
