The draft schedule of the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 has been revealed and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) shared the same with the International Cricket Council (ICC).
According to a source from ESPNCricinfo, the draft schedule was forwarded to participating nations for feedback before the final schedule will be released next week.
The World Cup 2023 host nation India will begin their campaign against the World Test Championship (WTC) 2023 final opponents Australia on October 8 at the Chepauk Stadium in Chennai.
According to the preliminary fixture list, India will face arch-rivals Pakistan on October 15 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Gujarat's Ahmedabad. However, with Men in Green not wanting to play at the venue, it would be seen if the game will be held there.
The report also states that England and New Zealand will kick off the tournament on October 5.
The semifinal and final match locations have not yet been decided. The semifinals are most likely to take place on November 15 and 16, while the final game is reportedly scheduled for November 19, and Ahmedabad will serve as the site.
