Mohammad Haris, the No. 3 batter of the Pakistani cricket team, scored a stunning fifty to start his Asia Cup 2025. During the first inning of the Oman vs Pakistan, Asia Cup clash in Dubai, Haris was dropped early, just in the third over of the match when he was only on 3 by Aamir Kaleem off Shakeel Ahmed.

What happened in the match?

Pakistan won the toss and decided to bat first on a wicket that was reported to be slower than the other ground of the Asia Cup 2025. Salman Agha, the Pakistani captain, wanted to put pressure on the board, but the early wicket of Saim Ayub on a duck made his decision strike back.

But, after the dropped catch of Mohammad Haris, the right-handed batter went on to try his luck with some big hits. It was last over the power play by Aamir Kaleem, who went for 16, which gave Haris and Pakistan the momentum they were looking for.

Pakistan finished the power play with a respectable 47/1 despite a slow start.

After that, Haris continued to find the boundaries against the spinners. A six and a boundary against Samay Shrivastava took him an inch closer to his well-made fifty.

Haris then completed his fifty in just 32 balls with a six against Sufyan Mehmood. Pakistan scored 85/1 in the first 10 overs with Sahibzada Farhan on 27 and Mohammad Haris unbeaten on 55 at the crease.
